Benoit, movies, other things….

Posted by David Forsyth on June 29th, 2007

I swear the more I hear Geraldo Rivera speaking regarding the Chris Benoit tragedy the more it just pisses me off. I mean come on can this guy ever get his facts straight?

Take a look at this article and you will see what I’m talking about…

and this….

http://www.pwinsider.com/ViewArticle.asp?id=25212&p=1

 grrrrrrrrrrr

anyway to get away from this discussion because I could go on and on with different thoughts of mine regarding it!

Movies!…ahhhhh the most recent movies I watched has been The Messengers, Curse of the Golden Flower and Day of the Dead.

The Messengers was a ok movie. I mean I have seen better but it was ok and kinda has some creepy moments. The movie is worth renting.

Curse of the Golden Flower I found very boring…in fact I was on the net during this moving and just lost total interest in most of it. Some of the fight seens that was toward the end of the movie was ok …but other wise it just bored me to tears!

Day of the Dead? heh a classic horror movie from 1985…nothing more I really need to say. I’m into horror zombie movies and this one never disappoints me. Well ok so its not the best in the world but it does that it does…and thats entertain me!

hmmmmm what more is there to say? Oooh I got paid today :D thats ALWAYS a bonus!

I’m looking to get a couple things fixed on the chatsites I run. A PREFIX option is in the works…and heck who knows what else may come into motion later on down the road.

We are also planning on doing a donation thing again this year. Either this July or September. Not sure yet. What this means that every membership or membership renewed we will donate half of what we make to a good cause. We will be choosing the charties we will accept donating soon and posting it on our forums and our Starlight Chat Network Newsetter Blog.

I recently moved my message board again. Yes sorry but it seems hosting it on my ISP’s server was a mistake on my part  as it was going up and down to much on that end and for some reason the database got messed up some and was posting some odd characters into the posts. Anyone who was signed up on it before please sign up again because I completely redone the board and started from scratch.

The board address now is located at www.davidforsyth.com/board

Well thats all I have for now….I’m off like pants in the dark!…..peace ;)

Wrestler Chris Benoit kills family and self

Posted by David Forsyth on June 27th, 2007

*sigh*….The title says it all. It’s all over every news station so I really won’t go into detail instead I’m going to give a few thoughts on it.

Chris Benoit was one of my favorites. I have watched him for years. In fact it was just the other week I chose him as my clip of the week showing a tribute to him. He was like a hero to me as I am a huge wrestling fan and loved his work in the ring. This is just sad…very…..

But now what? My thoughts on him yes has changed in a lot of ways. Do I regret being a fan of his? No…..but I admit at least right now its hard to watch his ring work now and not look at him differently. Maybe in time that will change and I can put the sides different. He was a performer who obviously had issues….those issues was outside of the ring…..he was putting on a show for everyone for 20 plus years while battling his own bigger demons…..

Its hard knowing he killed his wife…but even more that he took the life of his 7 year old child. So many news outlets are blamming Steroids. However a lot that knew him personally from what sources are saying is that was not the case. In fact some have said something about sanity. However I refuse to judge anything at this moment until the true facts come out. There was a wrestler named Christopher Nowinski. He was from the Tough Enough days of WWE that was on MTV. He lossed but later was still given a contract. He later had to retire way to early do to concussions. He is now a writer and studying on that exact case. He has a book out as well regarding it which can be found on his website at www.chrisharvard.net. Anyway….he recently asked to exam Benoit’s brain for signs of that as a possibility of snapping and losing his mind. Me? I say do it….I mean who knows right? Don’t automatically judge it as roids……just because they was found there does not mean they was abused. But news outlets like to feed on that sort of things…..

I had not known of what happend until around 7:40pm Monday. I had not turned on the news or really been online that entire day. I came on to update my clips of the week. In fact I did get one updated then I was doing the wrestling clips. I was going to add a tribute to another favorite of mine WWE Tazz. However went I went to the ECW website I saw the huge banner showing that Benoit had died. I immedidately loaded up www.pwinsider.com where I am a member at to check on the news because I trust no other wrestling news site out there like I do them on getting out the truth. I thought maybe at first this was part of the Vince McMahon storyline that was going on. Sadly it was not…..I almost wish it was even though that storyline was just ughhhhhh…..I just don’t want to believe my favorite wrestler is a murderer. I was just about to purchase the Chris Benoit Hardknocks DVD from the WWE Shopzone site with my free gift that I got from watching the PPV this past Sunday. I was disappointed of him not being their to wrestle CM Punk by the way…but now…I’m more disappointed in what happened to worry over that.

Well I don’t know what more to say so I’m ending this now. I’ll try to update the rest of the clips. I might start putting those in clips of the month format because I find it harder each week on what to add there. Anyway look forward to the clips being updated soon…..

Smokin’ Aces and other things

Posted by David Forsyth on June 24th, 2007

YouTube Video - Smokin Aces trailer 2

Well I didn’t watch the movie Smokin’ Aces last night as I thought I would. Some other more important things came up and had to be taken care of at the time. However I did pop the movie in this morning since I woke up around 6:30am! and I managed to watch it then. Did the movie live up to what I thought it was going to be like? Hmmmm no not really. Was it good? yeah I would say it was a decent action movie. But I don’t know I expect more. From the trailer above it looks like its just jam packed with some action and some humor here and there mixed in. While it did have some action spots and the humor parts as well….just something about it didn’t click like I thought it would for me. Anyway I do recommend renting it if your into action style movies. Some of the matrix like moments in the movie I could have done without but still its worth a rental and checking it out.

Sometimes I need to watch what I say more often. Sometimes I like to have to much fun and things get said and I don’t really realize at times what was said and that it could bother some. I’m trying to be better at that….

hmmmm anyway…I’m tired…I woke up with a bit of a stomach ache so I wasn’t sure if I was going to go to the wrestling show today or movies after all. I’m still depending honestly because its still a bit hurting. I’ll probably go though and hope  survive the couple hours without getting to sick or whatever…..I hate a very late dinner do to all the cleaning and rearranging…so that haunts me at times….

Well I have nothing more….peace I’m off…..

Cleaning and Rearranging on Saturday!

Posted by David Forsyth on June 23rd, 2007

I had to go out and get a new shelf for my DVD’s since my collection is expanding a lot and well that means I had to end up pulling out the ones I had…moving them all around for a temp time…cleaning!…and placing them all back in. Not only am I doing this I’m having fun helping put the damn shelf together. *grumbles*…. I would rather be lazy and have someone else do it…hmmm I suppose everyone would want that.

Though it did give me something to do tonight since obviously nothing is happening at all. So cleaning and rearranging on a Saturday night for me….ugh …..I’m getting old! I mean I’m sitting at home on a Saturday to clean?….how horrible is that!

Man I remember the good old days when I was in school….specially high school. I would go out with a few friends if it just ment riding around tormenting others and chasing the much older college girls around….mmmmm yeah those was the days! :P

Now I’m sitting at home and cleaning….*sigh*

Well I don’t have much more to say then that!…

I may go watch the movie I picked up at the store this afternoon….. Smokin’ Aces

I’ll post my thoughts on this movie sometime after I do watch it….

hmmmmm

Posted by David Forsyth on June 20th, 2007

hmmmm that pretty much sums it up for me today *L*

I honestly don’t know what to write about but here I am I guess I should at least take the effort to put something down besides hmmmmmm

Right now I’m currently listening to 80′s rock on yahoo messenger through the yahoo radio. That is pretty much my evening tonight…..so far anyway *S*

I did watch the movies Night at the Museum and another one of those 8 Films to Die For….After Dark Horror Fest movies called The Gravedancers. This was a bit of a twisted movie. I thought it was ok but nothing I would really go crazy for. Its a rent movie if your a horror fan..other wise I wouldn’t go out of my way to pick it up.

Night of the Museum  I thought was pretty good. It had a couple funny parts that had me cracking up. Though I did think it would be better then it was though but other wise I thought it was good. I’ll show the trailers below for both movies.

Well its getting late and I already been interupted on typing this up….ahhh gotta love family members when the unexpectedly come over!. Though I was getting a couple of my movies back so I shouldn’t complain!

Ok so thats all I have for now..I’m pretty tired …so going to call it a night. Here is the movie trailers as promised….

Updated – movies – busy

Posted by David Forsyth on June 18th, 2007

I updated yet again the Clips of the week. I hope you get a little enjoyment out of them. Lately I have a hard time deciding what to put in them so sometimes I don’t put to much thought into them :P sorry!

Anyway I recently watched the movies Ghost Rider and a movie called Dark Ride from the 8 Films to Die For – After Dark Horror Fest.

I enjoyed Ghost Rider for the special effects and what not. Some of the movie could have been better but other wise I liked the movie and would recommend anyone who is a Ghost Rider fan to buy it on DVD.

Dark Ride…wow what can I say about this movie? It’s twisted and yet its your basic Straight to DVD horror movie. It had some simularities to some of movies out there such as The Funhouse. Anyway if your into those b-rated horror films and looking for something new to watch and you have not seen this movie before then rent it and enjoy :)

sooooooo wondering why I haven’t posted lately? Well I been pretty busy working on sites and well my internet connection has been pretty shitty as of late. I did call my ISP over that and they said its do to Verizon (which they go through) so that means? YEP! I’m probably screwed for a month or so of slowness since its Verizon! and I think Verizon SUCKS! specially their tech support!

Anyway other then working on the sites and that…nothing much more is needed to be updated on myself. I haven’t really done anything else. I plan on going out possibly this weekend and watching Fantasic Four : Rise of the Silver Surfer though because I want to see it before it leaves the Theatres. Although I have serious doubts it goes out in two weeks..I mean Spider-Man 3 is still playing there!

Well thats all I have to ramble on about for now…..

peace..

Norbit…other things

Posted by David Forsyth on June 14th, 2007

Last night I did manage to watch the movie Norbit…..and while I thought the movie was funny I thought it could be better. It was not all to bad but some of it I just shook my head at. Maybe me but I was expecting more. Anyway the movie was good for a rental..I don’t know if I would personally go out of my way to buy the movie…..I thought these clips from the movie was pretty funny though….

YouTube Video - Norbit video clip 1

YouTube Video - Norbit video clip 2

Anyway there was a few other parts in the movie that was good but those are the only ones I could really find on youtube with a quick glance.

Other then relaxing and watching movies last night do to a storm that kept coming in and going….sadly hardly any rain though but the wind and lightening prevented me from being online at times. Sooooooo I watched movies. Besides Norbit I watched Love at First Bite. I can’t really find a clip of this movie its a old 1979 comedy starring George Hamilton. As I explained in another post it was something I watched as a kid. Not the most all time greatest movies but heh..I found it to be ok then so heck I had to watch it now *S* To tell you how long ago its been since I have seen that movie …I couldn’t remember the name of it or what it was fully about until I seen George Hamilton on Dancing with the Stars and it clicked that yes this was the man that played a Vamp in a movie that I used to watch. So right away I hit Netflix to see what all movies or shows he had done. WHAM! found it…so I snagged it up to watch :P

Anyway I’m way to tired to think of anything else to say at the moment…so I’m gonna go lay back down….I didn’t sleep all to well and I was up way to early…….peace
