Rob Zombie’s Halloween Official TV Spot 1

Posted by David Forsyth on July 31st, 2007

Halloween (2007) movie remake poster

Awesome! Rob Zombies remake of Halloween its coming to Theatres August 31st!

While I’m not thrilled with remakes and everything of that nature this movie looks like it could be good. I’m still a HUGE fan of the classic Halloween movie and the many sequels.

I was a bit disappoined when I heard they was first going to remake Halloween because nothing by far touches the classic.

However I’m willing to give this remake a chance. Rob Zombie seems to have his shit together when it comes to creepy fun type of movies. Halloween remake looks really well done for what it is. I showed the teaser trailer before well they finally got a TV Spot that aired on Spike TV. And  big thanks to YouTube as that is where I found this clip. The movie looks good from the short clip its showing….

I’ll definitely go see this when it comes out just from the stand point of wanting to see if Rob Zombie can live up to what the original or well somewhat live up to what the original was all about!

Either way its a horror movie and I love those types so I’m ALL For it!

The Monster Squad

Posted by David Forsyth on July 30th, 2007

 FINALLY The Monster Squad DVD has arrived and is in my hands!. Man I have not seen this movie since it had first came out.  Now that is years ago since the movie was put out in 1987! ughhhhhhhh I feel old now

I just simply love love love this movie when I was a kid and it sure was nice to hit memory lane by watching it today. Does it live up to what it did years ago? Hell yeah it does! I still love the movie. Take a look at this clip I found on YouTube.com

Pan’s Labyrinth other movies, rambling on

Posted by David Forsyth on July 28th, 2007

I got the movie Pan’s Labyrinth to watch the other day because it was suggested to me that I take a look a it. What is Pan’s Labyrinth?

Set in 1940s Spain against the postwar repression of Franco’s Spain, a fairy tale that centers on Ofelia, a lonely and dreamy child living with her mother and adoptive father, who is a military officer tasked with ‘ridding the area’ of rebels. In her loneliness, Ofelia creates a world filled with fantastical creatures and secret destinies. With Fascism at its height, Ofelia must come to terms with her world through a fable of her own creation

Well there you have it………anyway to the point. I was excited to see this movie after watching the trailer for it……

YouTube Video - Pan's Labyrinth movie trailer

However my excitement faded soon after as I found out this movie is only in Spanish! Yep a language I don’t understand and sadly no dubbed English style on this movie. Only English Subtitles. I tried as I could to watch it with the subtitles but honestly I get annoyed by subtitles while listening to a odd language in the background. It’s just annoying to me so I ended up stopping it within the first ohh 10 minutes or less because of it….. oh well the movie has gotten some rave reviews so if your able to understand the language and the move looks interesting to you I say go for it….if you like me and don’t and hate subtitles…then avoid the movie.

Another movie to avoid would be Succubus : Hell-Bent. Ugh this movie bored me to tears plain and simple…..The sex parts was kinda nice though..nothing great but nice :D Here is the trailer for the movie….

YouTube Video - Succubus Hell Bent

A some what decent cast but the movie just didn’t click for me personally….

One other movie I got this week is called The Thirst. Yeah its a vampire movie if you could not figure it out from just the title of the movie. Here is a unofficial trailer I found of it.

YouTube Video - The Thirst

ummm I can’t tell you what I think of this movie as of yet  I have yet to watch it. I plan on watching it soon though..and as soon as I do I’ll post my thoughts up about it.

I’m waiting on the following movies to come via mail that I ordered….

I liked those movies and I got a really good deal on the last 3 from Columbia House that I could not pass up.  Monster Squad is one of my all time favorite movies from when I was a kid….I was very excited to see this movie finally come out to DVD. I can just remember the famous line of all lines “WOLFMAN’s Got Nards!”

Anyway this weekend is going to be a less stressing day unlike the other night. I was completely stressed out…over a script going bad and some family illnesses I’m learning about that really just plain sucks…. I got a uncle right now that is going for surgery on August 1st to have his bladder and something else completely removed and well his intestines moved around through his stomach or around which ever I don’t recall do to cancer that was found. They are giving him a 45% chance of making it through and a 3-5 year life expand afterwards. Other wise he has about 3-6 months to live other wise….. *sigh*

Another is my aunt. She is going in soon ….I’m not really sure what day but to get her legged looked at as something is growing on her leg and they are thinking its a tumor of some sort….

Just a very trying time right now…..I mean both I don’t speak to that often but its always just plain sad to hear this happening to family ….it makes me worry…

The Devil’s Rejects

Posted by David Forsyth on July 24th, 2007

I got bored this morning as I really didn’t have anything to work on accept adding in a membership. So I popped in the movie The Devil’s Rejects to watch. I started watching it a few weeks ago but was not really in the mood to watch the movie at the time. Anyway I do like this movie…its a definite sick and twisted movie but its good. Here is the trailer…

YouTube Video - The Devils Rejects Movie Trailer

A tale of murder….madness and revenge…yeah that sure the hell is what the movie is all about. Here is a clip from the movie…..

YouTube Video - Devils Rejects movie clip 1

 WTF? Cut off the chickens head and……oh well you know the rest  to  funny!

Midphase.com finally coughs up the refund!

Posted by David Forsyth on July 20th, 2007

Wow midphase finally got their  together and sent out my refund. Of course they screwed it up some how the first time around which was supposed to be sent on June 8th. Well the 12th of July came around and I was already feeling the bitter old age part coming up on me :) so I took it upon myself to start asking whats going on? Why have I not got this refund yet that was promised to me?

Well of course I didn’t get no complete answers. And when I dialed up the billing support I got put on the waiting list. Now get this though..I was caller number 6 inline or something along those lines then I went to 3….2…1….up to 10!….WTF? then the cycle all over again. So waiting on the phone for over 40 minutes I decided to say  and go look on their support forum. It’s sad when you get faster service through a support forum. So after days of discussing the matter I finally got the refund….

Would I still recommend them now? NO! I won’t change my mind on that part. Their support sucks…their hosting sucks…the only one that is good in that company is one that goes by MarB on the support forum. He is the only one that gets some sort of job done…other wise the place it total crap.

Anyway thats all I have for now…peace

What really bugs me!

Posted by David Forsyth on July 19th, 2007

You wanna know what really gets on my last nerve?

Ok so maybe you don’t but guess what…I don’t care because I’m gonna tell you regardless!

What bugs me the most is …..there could be a movie I have not seen in years…not once on tv in such a long time. So I go to netflix and rent it because well damn its been far to long since I have seen it. Then what happens? a day or two maybe a week later the movie decides to surface on TV!

This past weekend I got the movie Mask (1985) starring Cher, Sam Elliott and Eric Stoltz.

A very good movie in my own opinion and would recommend it to anyone. I wish I could include a trailer however I could not find one of this movie. I did come across a image that might help you get a picture of what this movie is if you haven’t figured it out already.

Mask (1985)

Anyway back to my rant. What happens today when I turn on the tv? Yep you guessed it…the Movie was on TV! Even more so on a channel I never thought I would ever see it on again. So I could have saved my rent for this movie for a much later time but nooooooooooooooo the gods of tv networks had to just tick me off

And trust me this is not the first time this has happened to me regarding renting a movie I have not seen for several years on tv then poof….it comes pretty much right after I rent it! *grumbles*

Oooooooh well I suppose……

Right now I’m current watching the movie Alpha Dog which stars Bruce Willis, Matthew Barry and Justin Timberlake.

The plot of this movie….

1999, Claremont, California. Middle-class kids, in their 20s, talk trash, wave guns, hang out in a pack. Johnny Truelove, drug dealer and son of a underworld figure, threatens Jake Mazursky, an explosive head case who owes Johnny money; Jake responds by breaking into Johnny’s house. On impulse, Johnny and a couple pals kidnap Jake’s 15-year-old brother, Zach. Zach’s okay with it, figuring his brother will pay the debt soon. Johnny assigns his buddy Frankie to be Zach’s minder, and they develop a brotherly friendship. Zach parties with his captors as things begin to spin out of control. Group think, amorality, and fear of prison assert a hold on the pack. Is Zach in danger? Written by {jhailey@hotmail.com}

I can’t really say that much about the movie just yet as I just started it up. I’ll probably post later on about it.  A friend passed this movie along to me to check out. Soooooooo with that said I’m out to go finish watching the movie….peace….

I survived the day…other things

Posted by David Forsyth on July 15th, 2007

Well I managed to survive the wedding day yesterday afternoon. It was a nice wedding…only a few problems but however I won’t go into detail on that because something of my r/t that I won’t discuss. My cousin looked really nice in her wedding dress……*L* it was hard to see my Uncle (father of the bride)…in a tux…trust me he is not one to get all dressed up…but he did because well its a special day for his daughter.

I watched the remake of The Hitcher movie today. The movie was pretty good. Definitely a few things had been kept from the original just some of the plot was changed through the movie but then again what can you expect for a movie ramake?

But it was nice to see they didn’t completely remove everything about the original…so that was good. If you liked the original 1986 The Hitcher movie….then go ahead and check this one out…..its worth it…

Here is a clip from the movie that I really like ….not to mention I love that song playing in the scene…..

Well simple and short posting for me this time…..

peace….

Up at 6am! ugh!

Posted by David Forsyth on July 14th, 2007

Just like the title says….I was up at 6am today and yep thats UGH! for me! *L* Most know I don’t do mornings well. I had to get up and get a few things cleaned around in my room and the place some do to relatives possibly popping around. Yeah ones from up North….

 anyway! today I’m going to a wedding at 2:00 this afternoon. My cousin is getting married. The main reason I’m going is do to my mother not having anyone else going. It seems my Dad and Brother are doing a no show for the day so I’m gonna suck it up for mom and drive her there to go to it as well.

Anyway it gets me out of the house some. I’m a hoping that a bolt of lightening doesn’t strike me down as soon as I enter the church

Yes I’m not really a religious man……

Stupid humor I know but as long as I can get a little laugh out of myself WTF right?

Well I’m off to get dressed and all that jazzy

peace……………

Black Snake Moan movie….

Posted by David Forsyth on July 12th, 2007

I watched the movie Black Snake Moan. today………

This movie is just wow….I never thought I would see Christina Ricci in a role like this. However thats another reason why this movie is pretty damn good!

It’s a odd movie….and hell even some of its cracking me up but in a serious way.  Whats the movie about?

Movie Plot : A God-fearing bluesman (Jackson) takes to a wild young woman (Ricci) who, as a victim of childhood sexual abuse, looks everywhere for love, never quite finding it.

Wild young woman? Thats a understatement! *L* This movie is not for kids to see thats for sure as it deals with a lot of sexual tensions in it. A Grrrrrrrrrreat cast is involved one being my favorite Samuel L. Jackson. Here is a movie review I had found on the net talking about the movie. It says pretty much all I could say …..

By Michael Bannon

Black Snake Moan is an improbable, sometimes potentially disastrous film about sex, race, religion and redemption. While most film makers would take this unbelievable story and create nothing short of a train wreck, Director/Writer Craig Brewer (Hustle and Flow) does nearly the impossible, by creating his second great film.

Black Snake Moan tells the story of Lazarus (Samuel L. Jackson), an older, grey haired black man in the Deep South. Down on his luck lately after losing his wife to his brother, even his guitar and blues singing no longer provides him with comfort. He has stopped attending church as he just needs time to himself. He works in a field and makes his money by selling vegetables at the local market. Upon returning to his home one day, he sees Rae (Christina Ricci) lying on the side of the dirt road. Rae is a southern white girl, who’s Boyfriend Ronnie just left her to go off to the army. As he is leaving, she drops to the ground and begins to shake. Not good at being alone, she gets “The Itch”. The itch while in this case looks very much like a heroine addiction is actually nymphomania. Half naked and beaten after a night of sex/drugs/drinking (after all her boyfriend left like 24 hours ago, so what’s a girl to do?) Lazarus finds her still alive so he takes her into his home and tends to her wounds for 3 days. During this time, she comes in and out of consciousness and goes into fits that he just can’t understand. Learning what he can about this girl from some locals, he learns that she has “the Itch” or “the Sickness” and he takes it upon himself to save her. He chains her to a radiator so that she can’t get away so that he can give her what she needs, a detoxification from sex. He plans to cure her of her sluttery. Little does he realize that he also is in need of a healing, and Rae might just be the one person to help him?

Black Snake Moan is a beautiful film that brings two individuals from opposite sides of life’s spectrum together to find happiness. While the film flirts with sexual tension between the two characters, the god-fearing Lazarus sticks to his guns and treats this white girl with what she has needed her whole life and that’s simply respect (aside from chaining her to a radiator of course). The relationship between Jackson and Ricci is more like that of a loving father and an out of control rebellious daughter. The two find common grounds, and begin to work through their problems together. Jackson has been quoted as saying he feels like this might be his best performance, and I would say he is correct. The same would go for Ricci. While I don’t expect either of them to get much attention come Oscar time, both should be praised for their courageous and inspiring performances.

Set against the backdrop of a small community in the Deep South, Black Snake Moan is a great film, with a great cast (aside from Justin Timberlake’s who’s performance did anything but impress). Many may feel uncomfortable with such in your face sexual tension, but by the end, very few will be able to doubt the films very real story of redemption and salvation.

Would I recommend seeing this movie? Yep! its a great film…but once more I wouldn’t recommend watching it around kids….but its definitely a powerful movie….

More thoughts on Black Christmas (2006) remake

Posted by David Forsyth on July 11th, 2007

YouTube Video - Black Christmas 2006 movie clip

I just got done with the movie and all I can say is WOW!

It had some really gore parts to it. Now was it great? Nah..but was it good to watch? Oh yeah! :P

I liked the movie enough to buy it. It was kind of creepy as you seen from the clip above and well from the clip you will see below as well…..Over all this movie was good and I would recommend any horror movie fan to take a look. I think the only real complaint I had is the flashback scene of one main clip that happened a a couple of times or so in the movie. Wait..no I take that back….NO NUDITY!…ugh come one I got the unrated version for a reason!…blood and nudity! :P :P :P

Kidding it had a little skin but not what I thought would be in it. Kinda wierd being a horror movie and no nudity shots..other then the little teaser shower scene :P
