Yay! I won! – Other movies and cartoons

Posted by David Forsyth on November 29th, 2007

Wow! I actually won the DVD I was bidding on. Yep the I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus movie that I wanted. Of course I still spent a little more then I really wanted for this movie but damn I pretty much couldn’t find it anywwhere. While I got it a little cheaper and all by bidding on Ebay I still wish it was a bit lower in the price. However I won’t worry about it because I do enjoy the movie.

Heh what can I say? I’m a huge kid at heart and a sucker for a movie like it. I also enjoy The Christmas Story as long as I don’t have to watch it 5000000000000000000,000000 times! and of course I still try to catch the Charlie Brown holiday cartoons and yep good old Frosty the Snowman (1969) and Rudolph the Rednosed Reindeer (1964)

YouTube Video - Live Free or Die Hard (2007) movie trailer

Ahhh great action from the trailer heh?

Well Live Free or Die Hard (2007) movie lived up to it as well! I really enjoyed the movie. When it first came out to the theatres I was a little worried they would ruin the movie do to the PG-13 rating and all. Now yes I did get a review from someone I will leave nameless but anyway she said it was good and I needed to go see it. I never had a chance to do so. But I finally got around to picking up the DVD today and wow the movie was just great. Fun action with the expected comedy areas within the movie. It had everything I would want from a action packed flick.

So if you a fan of all the other Die Hard movies starring Bruce Willis I recommend seeing this movie as well because you surely won’t be disappointed. It was good!

The movie also stars besides of course Bruce Willis is Timothy Olyphant, Justin Long, Maggie Q, Cliff Curtis, Johnathan Sadowski, Andrew Friedman, Kevin Smith and Yorgo Constantine.

I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Clause (2001)

Posted by David Forsyth on November 27th, 2007

YouTube Video - I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus (2001) movie

OK I saw this movie a couple of years ago and thought it was cute and funny. I believe I caught it on ABC Famly 25 Days of Christmas special that they run each year. So thinking about this movie after I seen where its going to be on TV or well already has I can’t recall.

Anyway I want this movie on DVD. The problem? Well while this movie is out on DVD its over $30.00! or close to $30.00 no matter where I have looked. Now I know the movie is good and all but geez there is no way I’m dishing out that kind of money for a DVD of that type of movie.

I did manage to find it on a site that is from the UK however I really don’t trust personally from buying from out of the states because well the extra shipping charges and never know if the actual DVD will work with my DVD player and so on.

So I hit eBay and trust me that is my last resort. I’m not a eBay fan as I would rather just buy the movie instead of having to try to win a bidding war. Not to mention with my luck I never really when the bid. I placed on in though so who knows we will see….

The movie itself is pretty cute and funny which stars Connie Sellecca, Corbin Bernsen, Cole Sprouse, Dylan Sprouse, Eric Jacobs and Sonny Carl Davis.

The movie itself is based on the classic holiday song of the same name, stars twin actors Cole & Dylan Sprouse, playing a little boy who after seeing his mom kissing “Santa Claus” does all in his power to make sure his family remains intact. The hilariously heartwarming lengths he goes through for his family make this holiday film a joy for the whole family. In the spirit of HOME ALONE and A CHRISTMAS STORY, this film has it’s share of kid high jinx and pranks! Based on the classic holiday song, “I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus.”

If you happen to see that I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus on TV I recommend watching it…..I enjoyed it.

And on that note if anyone who reads this can find this under $30.00 and more around $20.00 range let me know where by using the contact page here on the site!

Redline (2007) – Grindhouse: Planet Terror (2007)

Posted by David Forsyth on November 26th, 2007

Ok over this weekend two of my next in line Netflix movies came. Redline (2007) and Grindhouse: Planet Terror (2007).

Redline -  Is about a  gorgeous young automobile fanatic and front to the hottest unsigned band on the West coast finds herself caught up in illegal drag-racing competitions organized for the pleasure of a bunch of bored billionaires.

I thought this movie was ok. Personally it could have been a little better. The previews of the movie made it look awesome so that is one of the reasons I got the movie. I love those fast past racing style movies like Fast and the Furious and such so I was hoping this would be like that. Unfortunately while it had some fast pace action it was not as good as I was hoping.  Would I recommend it? Sure I say rent it if your into those type of movies to. Rent it then judge for yourself if its worth buying or not.

Redline stars Nadia Bjorlin, Nathan Phillips, Angus Macfadyen and Eddie Griffin.

Here is the movie trailer for Redline.

Grindhouse: Planet Terror -  Every since Grindhouse: Death Proof came out onto DVD I been wanting to see Planet Terror. I really wish they didn’t split these movies but I’m sure in the next few months the DVD will be back out in stores in full like it should be!

Anyway I though Planet Terror was pretty good. Some of the filming looked so weird because I’m not used to that style however  enjoyed it. It had some really yuck factor moments and then some really good hard action moments. By the way I can’t wait for Machete movie to come out!

Grindhouse: Planet Terror stars Rose McGowan, Freddy Rodriguez, Josh Brolin, Marley Shelton, Bruce Willis, Michael Biehn and Rebel Rodriguez.

What is Planet Terror about? Well…..It’s about a  experimental bio-weapon released, turning thousands into zombie-like creatures, it’s up to a rag-tag group of survivors to stop the infected and those behind its release.

Do I recommend this movie? Definitely! I loved Planet Terror and while I’m sure most that I know wouldn’t but I definitely would buy it up. Sure the movie is not for everyone but for me I enjoyed it and thats what matters :) Plus if you like Death Proof this is a must see.

Here is the trailer…..

Black Friday!

Posted by David Forsyth on November 24th, 2007

Yikes Black Friday is scary!

All those crazy ass shoppers rushing around trying to get into the stores to get the best deals. I truly feel for the workers who have to put up with some of those people!

For instance yesterday my sister and my nieces went shopping at a early time. They went to a few of the stores who was yet to open up. Sure enough the lines outside the store was huge regardless with ones waiting for at least and hour or more. Anyway after a long morning I guess two guys got into a fist fight.

I mean come on your going to get into a fight over being there or over a stupid gift you want to pick up? WTF? Are you insane! I mean now the two was simply broken up and kicked out. DUH now your both screwed

Oh well I will never understand the crazy insane people who rush out at those damn early hours and then bitch and moan and fight over a product. Life is way to short for stupid stuff like that.

Though me saying that now I’m gonna start feeling like a Deer in the woods waiting for a shot to be fired at me

Anyway I chose not to go out in the morning or even the afternoon. Nope on the night I usually take for myself I ended up going out to do a little shopping. While I really didn’t find anything I liked for anyone I got some ideas. I plan to go again to other stores. I was a little surprised some closed at a early time because they usually are open until midnight. Oh well though I did pick up a couple of things. Small things.

Anyway that’s all I have for now so peace I’m outta here….

Happy Thanksgiving!

Posted by David Forsyth on November 21st, 2007

I really don’t have much to say lately. With all I have said over the past month or two months now things are starting to get really slow down. Sure there was some bad things thats happened over the past few months that I wish never happened. However I am thankful to really find out who my friends are and who I can trust.

But thats not what this post is about. Nope I don’t need to go down that road right now. I just wanted to simply say

 Happy Thanksgiving!!!

I hope all those who are traveling over this holiday a safe journey….

Deck the Halls (2006)

Posted by David Forsyth on November 21st, 2007

I rented the movie Deck the Halls (2006) over this past weekend and I finally got around to watching it today. Thats one of the great things about Netflix it does not need to be returned right away. So anyway the movie is about two neighbors in a small town who go to war when one of them decides to decorate his house with many Christmas lights so he could be visible from space. The neighborhood is turned upside down as two families try and discover the real true meaning of Christmas.

I wish I could have found a previw but unfortunately I was unable to find one. If I do I’ll be sure to post it up for everyone to see.

This movie stars Danny DeVito, Matthew Broderick, Kristin Davis, Kristin Chenoweth, Alia Shawkat, Dylan Blue, Sabrina Aldridge, Kelly Aldridge, and Joe Garcia.

Anyway the movie itself is pretty good family comedy for everyone to watch I think. I think some of it could have been a little better. I was epecting more however I was pleased with it and plan on buying this on DVD soon. I would recommend anyone to watch it specially with the holidays coming up.
